The SCSE-club as we know it today was established in 1997. It has less than a hundred members but still put in considerable work to preserve and promote the breed. As an acknowledgement for this continuous and devoted effort the SCSE-club has received awards from the two main estrela clubs in Portugal (LICRASE and APCSE).

Ola Estrela is the name of the club's magazine. Members receive 4 issues a year. The club also arranges an annual dog show called Rasspecialen. This is a great opportunity for all estrela fanciers to meet and have fun.
